FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

When are the next shows?

Our 2024 show dates are:

August 11th

November 17th

What is a Train and Toy Show?

Our train and toy show is like a flea market that sells only toys and trains or related items.

They can be new, used or collectible items offered by retail vendors or hobbyists thinning their collections. You will also meet others interested in the same things you are. There will also be groups displaying information on their clubs and organizations. You will find 200 tables of vendors buying and selling trains and toys. We also will have free train movies for viewing, door prizes, concessions, and free parking. All of this is only $5 for Adults and children under 12 are free with a paid adult.

Where is the show held?

The Mid-America Train and Toy Show is currently held at the KCI Exhibit Center, 11728 NW Ambassador Drive, KCMO. Click here to be taken to a map for directions.

Who are the dealer/vendors?

Our vendors include individuals who may run a full retail toy or train shop, collectors and hobbyists selling off their extra items or dealers who buy and sell used trains and toys. You will find vendors with a single table to blocks of 8 or more tables of items from one vendor.

How do I become a vendor?

Just click on the tab to find the Dealer Registration forms. Print and fill out the form and send it with your payment for the appropriate amount, $30 for each 8ft. Table desired. You should send the form in at least 2 weeks before the show date.

On show day you simply bring your items to the exhibit hall and check in. We will direct you to your assigned location so that you may place your items on the table(s) provided. When the show opens you will make your own sales and collect your own proceeds (be sure to bring enough change) . At the end of the day you pack up what is left and exit the hall. It is all very simple and can be great fun.

What can I sell at the show?

Our show is for Toys and Train related items only. We do not allow general flea market items, food, pets, travel plans or time shares. If you have any questions on this issue just contact us and we will see if you are a good fit for our show.

Why are the show hours so short?

The Mid-America Train and Toy Show opens for early shoppers at 7AM (those who don’t want to miss a chance at that special item and are willing to pay $10 admission) and opens for regular admission at 9AM to 2PM. It is a buying and selling show and the action starts fast and early. The best items are found early and the best deals are found later in the day but it raps up at 2PM so those who travel to our show can get home and everyone can enjoy the rest of their Sunday.

Will there be dolls and stuffed toys there?

While there may be small numbers of dolls at our show it is known as a “boy toy” show and dolls and stuffed toys are not generally present.

We are not opposed to these items but we don’t want disappointment.

Will there be anyone with……?

We never know what will be at the show from one time to the next. There are always toy trains and model railroading equipment in all scales. There are usually all types of toys from die cast to plastic models to marbles and cast iron antiques to video games. Just remember it is a Train and Toy Show and not a doll and craft show, we don’t want you to be disappointed.
